Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center Will Reopen its Hayward Mission Clinic

Next month Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center will reopen its Hayward Mission Clinic’s second floor, which includes an expansion of its dental,

The renovation of the entire second floor of the Mission Clinic includes adding 10 additional medical exam rooms and increasing access and integration between pediatrics, dental, specialty care, and Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) services for TVHC patients.

“This expansion will allow us to increase access to care, allowing us to meet the needs of our patients and community members,” said TVHC Chief Integration Officer Dr. Sridevi Ponnala. “We are tremendously grateful to our funders for supporting our efforts and making the expansion possible.”

The expansion also includes the following:

• • A new employee break room.
  • Lactation room.
  • Waiting and reception area.
  • Additional bathrooms.
  • Office/consultation rooms.

Opened in 2004, TVHC’s Mission Health Center in Hayward serves over 10,000 patients annually, providing affordable and quality primary health and dental care.

“Pediatric care, adult medicine, behavioral health, and dental care services are a growing need in our community and renovating our Mission Health Center will allow us to expand all those services and consequently help more community members,” said Dr. Ponnala.

The remodel is not only adding additional exam rooms to increase access to care but also creating additional jobs for people in the community.

Over 80% of TVHC staff live in the communities it serves and they’re looking forward to being able to hire more people from the community to fill the new positions.
