Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center Launches Flu Vaccine Clinic

This year’s flu vaccine will be vital in the fight against COVID-19 by preventing an influenza epidemic on top of the pandemic, keeping emergency room visits down, and saving lives.

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (TVHC) launched its flu vaccine clinic in early October to ensure patients receive their dose with enough time to kick in and keep them protected throughout the entire flu season.

TVHC offers four options for patients to receive the flu vaccine, including in-clinic visits, drive-thru flu clinic at its main sites, during outdoor Wellness Clinic visits, along with a CVS pharmacy option coming in November.

A unique challenge being faced in communities across the globe is differentiating between a common cold or flu virus and the COVID-19 since they share some of the same symptoms, such as cough, fever, and fatigue.

By providing flu shots, free community-wide COVID-19 testing, and community health education, TVHC is working hard to protect the health and wellness of its patients and community members who are among some of the hardest hit by the pandemic.
