Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center Acquires Silva Pediatric Clinic
Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (TVHC) continues to meet the healthcare challenges facing its community and has acquired Silva Pediatric Clinic which is located in south Hayward.
The Silva clinic had been in danger of closing after the board of the financially struggling St. Rose Hospital, which oversaw the clinic, decided to cease providing services there and to focus on running the hospital. Under the direction of TVHC’s Chief Executive Officer, David B. Vliet, the health center assembled a premier Operations Team to review and assess the services of Silva clinic, in order to guarantee a successful and efficient transition. The clinic offered uninterrupted services to the 3,000 children who are served by Silva Clinic.
Tiburcio Vasquez has a 40-year track record of delivering free and low-cost health care to men, women and children at clinics in Hayward and Union City. TVHC will focus efforts on well child checks, routine dental care and a higher quality of life for children with chronic disease.
“Pediatric care is a key part of the services we provide,” said Tiburcio Vasquez Chief Executive Officer David Vliet. “This is a core part of what our mission is.”
“Under TVHC, the Silva clinic will not only survive, it will thrive” notes Alex Briscoe, Director of Alameda County Health Care Services Agency. “This deal is not just about finances. It is about the clinical expertise and the authentic partnership TVHC has established with the Hayward community. We are ecstatic that TVHC and St. Rose Hospital have worked through the many details to make this deal happen.”
