Native American Health Center Breaks Ground on New Facility
After years of planning, Native American Health Center (NAHC) is excited to share that construction has started on their new building at 3050 International Blvd. in Oakland’s Fruitvale Neighborhood.
This new site will enhance their capacity to serve their patients and community members. It will feature 20 new dental operatories, expanding their ability to provide essential dental care to children, families, and individuals. Beyond healthcare, the new building will house a large cultural community center, capable of accommodating up to 300 people. This space will be a hub for events, workshops, and gatherings. In partnership with Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA), the five-story building will include 76 units of affordable housing. This collaboration underscores NAHC’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of their community while building an environment of health and wellbeing.
The new 14,000 square-foot community and clinical facility will not only cater to our current members but will also extend our reach to serve 10,000 new members, providing 20,000 additional visits each year. This expansion is a testament to over 50 years of service by NAHC in the Bay Area, as they continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of our communities.
Slated for completion in Winter 2025, this state-of-the-art facility will create 52 new long-term jobs, offer extensive dental care services, and serve as a cultural cornerstone for over 3,000 community members annually.
