Rena Wang, COVID Program Manager, Asian Health Services (AHS)
Rena Wang was recently recognized as one of fifteen recipients of the Geiger Gibson Merging Leader Award. This award recognizes the accomplishments of community health center movement members who have demonstrated leadership in improving the lives of historically disadvantaged patients and community members.
Without a doubt, Rena’s leadership helped us reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our community – Dr. Thu Quach, President of AHS.
Over the past two years, Rena led a multilingual and multicultural team of over 30 staff, providing more than 75,000 COVID tests and over 40,000 vaccinations, working year-round.
This award celebrates and recognizes Rena and the extraordinary AHS COVID Team for being on the frontlines of COVID response and recovery while still continuing to serve and advocate for our community.

Dr. Huong Le, D.D.S. Chief Dental Officer, Asian Health Services
Dr. Le was recently featured in an American Dental Association article as part of a series that showcases and celebrates the diversity of career paths in dentistry.
Dr. Le went from helping out a community clinic once a week to leaving her hospital job and devoting her time and skills to a community clinic where she stayed for 14 years and in the last 19 years, Dr. Le has served as Chief Dental Officer of Asian Health Services, overseeing six dental sites that serve underserved and uninsured patients. “That was about 33 years ago,” Dr. Le said. “Once I started at the community clinic, I felt that commitment to the community and the rest is history.”
