TVHC Opens New Castro Valley Health Center

Tiburcio Vasquez Health center (TVHC) officially opened their new Castro Valley Health Center – a school-based site – on Monday, October 23rd.

They kicked off the opening day with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a tour of the newly renovated building which is now the home to the TVHC Castro Valley Health Center.

“We are truly honored to be a part of this collaboration with the Castro Valley Unified School District to help meet the needs of our community and close the gap in health disparities,” said TVHC CEO, Andrea Schwab-Galindo.

The health center will offer services to students and community members, including primary care, dental screenings, immunizations, health education, family planning, and more.

Continuing to expand into their region and growing their partnerships with schools, the Castro Valley Health Center is TVHC’s 5th school-based clinic and 15th site overall. Creating safe spaces for students to receive everything from basic care services to more complex family planning services and counseling is one way our health centers are continuing to foster healthy practices starting at a young age.
